Artful Thinking Routines with Literature and Technology
My students were split up into vertical groups through the FDE magnet program based on the Literature MAP scores. I asked the students to create an artful thinking routine while looking at the cover of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Below is the screen cast that I created with some screen shots of the students' thoughts:

Artful Thinking with Technology and Persuasive Writing
Below are a couple of representations of 'artful thinking' that we have done using technology. The content that they are focusing on supports persuasive writing elements that we were working on at the time.
Artful Thinking Routines with My Big Campus and Integrated Content Topics
This information is posted in the room and attached to a My Big Campus Post. The students respond to it and each others' responses.
Arts Integration with Vocabulary
The students are to define, sketch, identify the part of speech, and use the posted vocabulary in a sentence. The students then choose an 'art' to represent some of the words. Below are so examples.
Theater Unit
The Magnet team has an 'art' unit for each marking period. Our 1st marking period unit was 'theater'. As a culminating activity we were able to bring in a performance artist to help them create various 'tableau' or frozen pictures to represent their story. The videos below show the students working on them.
