Project Based Learning
I have modified many of my techniques after researching project based learning. Much of what I have done so far is based off of the Buck Institute: www.bie.org and The Austin Discovery School
http://www.austindiscoveryschool.org/. Below are example rubrics that my students and I put together for a projects focused on 'Ecology' and 'Fossils'. The students helped with coming up with the focus questions, and then they choose a way to present their knowledge through the use of our 'product cards' (see below).
Product Cards
Here is the link to the product card website that some of the staff from Fountaindale created together

The password is 'school'. The students can choose which product card(s) that they want to use for their presentation. They are to look at the criteria, product card rubric (if needed), and student examples for their grade level before actually presenting their products.
